Planning and Plotting in my garden

Spring is really springing in our garden now, the primroses have been out for a few weeks already and the assortment of bulbs that I planted late last year are beginning to show through the bare ground.

My thoughts have been turning to our year in the garden, with one raised bed already constructed we are planning two more. We have also bought some packets of vegetable seeds; courgettes, carrots, broad beans, radishes, beetroot and a selection of tomato seeds. Having been involved in an allotment at university and having grown a few veg ourselves in the garden of our old house I do know a bit about growing my own. We now have a lovely sized garden with space for a proper veg plot and the kids are at an age now where they won’t eat everything they get their hands on and are getting quite good at playing independently. So I am very excited about my year in the garden and hope to grow some food for our family and flowers to cut for the house.

Do you grow-your-own? What veg would you recommend as a good veg for a medium garden plot?

For now,

Catherine
