The Internet

A number of websites have been closed today due to action about sharing of information, admittedly I don’t know the exact details but it got me thinking. What would life be like if there was no internet? It hasn’t been in common use for that long if you think about it but I do wonder now what we’d do without the instant access to information we enjoy or our social connections that we maintain online.

We would have to start talking to more ‘real’ people, have to write ‘real’ letters, get to know our neighbours, spend more time with family, work slightly harder for our brains to remember facts….I’m sure I can think of more. None of these are particularly bad things, in fact I think they are all very good things.

Do you think you spend too much time on the internet? Do you know your neighbours? When was the last time you sent a ‘real’ letter?

For now,

Catherine
