Quick – #amonthof creative moments
Do you ever have any left over pastry? This is a really quick recipe to use it up!
Savory Pastry Swirls
- Left over pastry – puff pastry is the best but any will work.
- Fillings – ‘traditional’ – Marmite; ‘pizza’ – cheese, tomato puree and ham, onion chutney and goats cheese or any prefered combination.
Roll out your pastry until it is about 3mm thick.
Spread a very thin layer of your chosen filling over the flat pastry.
Roll up the pastry into a long thin roll.
Use a sharp knife to cut into 1-2cm slices and place onto a baking tray covered in grease proof paper.
Bake in an oven Gas 6/200C for about 15 minutes until golden brown and bubbling slightly.
Enjoy warm or cold.
What do you do with your left over pastry?
For now,
Catherine

Yummy! I use pesto and parmesan in a roll like this or sugar and cinnamon for a sweet treat! Like the idea of using marmite!
Ooh, yum! They sound like great combinations.
I really don’t like marmite but everyone else in the house does and they go crazy for them!
