The air cold, wind harsh, all of life concealed.
A hint of springtime in the air, look close…..
…and you will see revealed.
The first flower of the year, a hint of things to come.
The promise of a tiny bud…
…rising straight out of the mud.
See how the buds curl…
…and how they look when they unfurl.
Watching the whole world renew.
On this first day of the year where everything is brand new.
